To advertise registration, volunteer participation, excite as well as inform their audience about the symposium, my team and I were asked to design a 3x3 social media campaign for public Instagram.
Below, I describe my role as a leader in this campaign in detail. My teammates, also listed below, redesigned their designated posts and carousels. Steve Stromski, another senior in Graphic Design, animated motion graphics for the daily Instagram story updates.
The social media campaign was a success – the symposium was not only sold out, but UMassBrut oversold tickets and more funds were raised than expected.

Brutalism + the Public University: Past, Present and Future was a two-day, collaborative symposium held at University of Massachusetts Dartmouth on Friday, October 22, 2021 and at University of Massachusetts Amherst on Saturday, October 23, 2021.
First, before any meetings, I created a presentation to show the clients elements of similar, successful campaigns that I was interested in implementing into their artwork. Additionally, I typed up a design brief, questions for the client, created a few sketches and google form for later testings.
After getting feedback from the clients in meetings, I designed several mockups of the campaign. I landed on a design that both met the project scope and satisfied the clients and my team. Before continuing, I conducted tests with the target audience to ensure the design was successful.
I created a presentation, where I showed the clients the finished mockup as well as a posting schedule I had created. Afterward, I was granted access to their social media accounts. I implemented a link tree in their bio, allowing followers easier access to other UMassBrut accounts and important pages regarding the symposium.
For the following week, my team and I designed and posted daily on the UMassBrut Instagram page advertising the symposium. This included my large social media design, as well as animated stories.
At the end of the project, UMassBrut not only sold out but oversold by 20 tickets to the symposium!
